NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED VOTERS in the COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES and STATE OF CALIFORNIA, that an election will be held on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing the following:
2 Governing Board Members of ROWLAND UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT,
TRUSTEE AREAS 2 AND 4
Candidates for the above offices must be registered voters residing within the district/trustee area at the time the declaration of candidacy is issued pursuant to §35107 of the Education Code, and §201 of the Elections Code.
Declaration of Candidacy forms for the election are available no earlier than JULY 15, 2024, and no later than Friday, AUGUST 9, 2024, at the REGISTRAR-RECORDER/COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE:
- Los Angeles County: 12400 Imperial Highway, Norwalk, CA 90650, 2nd Floor, Room 2013, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Appointment to each elective office will be made as prescribed by §5328 of the Education Code and §10515 of the Elections Code in the event:
- There are no nominees or there is an insufficient number of nominees for such office(s); and
- A petition signed by 10% or 50 voters in the district or division, if applicable, whichever is the smaller number, requesting that an election be held, has not been presented by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, AUGUST 14, 2024.

There are two Board of Education seats open for November 5 General Election, one seat in trustee area 2 (green) and one seat in trustee area 4 (blue). Candidates must reside within the trustee area that they file for. Please note, trustee area 2 and trustee area 4 fall within the County of Los Angles and must file Declaration of Candidacy forms with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office. If nomination documents for the incumbent are not filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 9, 2024, the nomination period shall be extended until August 14, 5:00 p.m. for person other than the incumbent. (Education Code §8024 and §10516).
