New Administrative Appointments

Congratulations to the following new administrators who were appointed at the July 26, 2018 Board of Education Meeting:

 

Nicole Hernandez, Special Education Coordinator (Elementary)

Nicole has been part of the RUSD family since 2005, when she joined our Special Education Department as a preschool teacher focused on Autism. She has worked on creating instructional programs to meet the diverse learning needs of our students, and in 2015, became Teacher on Special Assignment for Special Education where she has been an instructional coach, helping support our Special Education teachers with instruction in their classrooms, along with developing Individual IEP plans for students and is the District's Educational Specialist on the Preschool Transdisciplinary Assessment Team to determine eligibility and services.

Jason Garcia, Principal at Oswalt Academy 

Jason has been at Ybarra Academy of Arts and Technology as Assistant Principal since 2015, where he has assisted with curriculum development, instructional strategies, overseeing classroom activities and professional development experiences to help support and improve instructional practices for academic achievement. He was also a Summer School Principal at Rowland Elementary and Shelyn Elementary and has played an active role in District Leadership activities.  Prior to RUSD, he had extensive teaching experience at Willard International Baccalaureate School in the Pasadena Unified School District, where he conducted district professional development centered around Math, writing, Reading, and technology and was Grade level chair, Technology Lead/coach and IB Lead/Coach. 

Steve Stahl, Principal at Northam Elementary

Steve joined RUSD as Coordinator of Student Achievement/Program Specialist at Northam Elementary in 2013, where he has been a leader in implementing and evaluating school programs to support students with school wide intervention classes and encouraging positive performance. He worked alongside Dr. Munguia and is thrilled to take the reigns and continue working to support student achievement at Northam. He has also been Summer School Principal at Hurley and Northam Elementary Schools. Prior to RUSD, his teaching and administrative experience was at both the middle school and elementary levels. He was also Technology Teacher on Special Assignment for five years at Los Neitos School District, where he executed technology professional development districtwide to teachers and administrators.
