October 15, 2008 -- Hollingworth Elementary 6th Grade Teacher Karoll Joson received a huge surprise today – she was awarded the "Teacher of the Year" award from Sam's Club in City of Industry. During the months of July - September, community members could nominate their favorite teacher. Ms. Joson was given a $100 gift card to spend on classroom supplies and School Principal Miriam Kim and Vice Principal Jason Gass were presented a $1,000 check from Sam's Club Marketing Manager Rosanna Gallagher. The school will use the funds for technology.
