300 CHILDREN CELEBRATE A ROWLAND CHRISTMAS

Community Helps more than 100 local families

Hundreds of elves – that is, employees, school staff and community members – made the holiday season a little brighter for more than 300 children across the Rowland Unified School District on Saturday.

“Last year there were 219 chilren and 75 fmailies that benefitted from this special program,” said Jennifer Kottke, Coordinator of the Family Resource Center. “We truly appreciate all of the support and donation that the community provides to help our local families.”

More than 100 families gathered at Northam elementary in La Puente for the holiday Adopt and Shop event. They enjoyed photos with Santa, holiday food, fun and opening presents.

The District’s Family Resource Center organizes the Adopt N’ Shop program, in which people adopt a child and are provided the child’s age, gender, clothing size and toy wish list.
