Rowland Unified School Board Approves Construction Contract for Rowland High School Aquatics Center: Groundbreaking October 15

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – OCTOBER 11, 2013 – The Rowland Unified School District Board of Education approved a Lease/Leaseback construction contract to build a new Rowland High School Aquatics Center at the October 8, 2013 Board of Education Meeting.  A Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Aquatics Center at Rowland High School will take place Tuesday, October 15 at 10 a.m. at the old pool deck.

The $5.7 million construction project will include the removal of the 40+ year old pool and building a new Aquatics Center that will feature an expanded pool with 12-lanes for competitions, a covered viewing area and larger deck, new outdoor showers, bathrooms and changing facilities, and infrastructure for energy efficiency (such as solar technology).

Timeline: Construction begins October 15, 2013 and is expected to be finished in the summer of 2014.
