Celebration of Food, Cultural Crafts & Dances for School Families
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – JANUARY 23, 2012 – Teachers and parents from the Blandford School PTA are preparing for the school’s annual Asian Cultural Night on Tuesday, January 24 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. The school-wide event to celebrate cultural diversity within our community includes a myriad of foods, activities and entertainment from throughout Asia, including the Philippines, Korea, China, Japan, and Indonesia.
Families will enjoy a dinner fundraiser with an assortment of finger foods, desserts and drinks. There will also be a variety of entertainment from 5 – 6:10 p.m. Performances include Martial Arts displays by The Institute of Chinese Martial Arts and Wu Kung Martial Arts Academy, a Gu Zheng Performance by Bei Bei He, Jang-go Dance performed by Blandford students and a crowd pleaser, the Lion Dancers.
Other family activities will include Japanese Cherry Blossoms Art, Chinese Lantern Making, Chinese Paper Art, Beginner and Intermediate Origami, Asian Folktale Story Time, Asian Cultural Dress Up and cultural games and Karaoke.
Asian Cultural Night is also a fundraising event for Blandford Elementary.
