Special Board Meeting for Report on Possible School Closure and Public Input May 19

ROWLAND UNIFIED HOLDS SPECIAL MEETING FOR REPORT ON POSSIBLE SCHOOL CLOSURE AND PUBLIC INPUT MAY 19

 

ROWLAND HEIGHTS, CA – The Rowland Unified Board of Education has scheduled a Special Board Meeting for Wednesday, May 19 at 5 p.m. at the Nogales High School Manor.  The meeting will be to receive a report from the School Facilities Utilization Task Force regarding recommendations on school consolidation options and a forum for public input. (Nogales High School is located at 401 S. Nogales Street, La Puente.)

            Like school districts locally and across the state, Rowland Unified has experienced declining enrollment for the past 10 years and will need to cut more than $5.5 million from its operating budget next year due to enrollment declines and the continued state budget crisis.
