Call it a hybrid production. A combination of the choral and drama departments at Nogales High School, as well as parts of the movie and play versions of "Grease."
 
"Our show is actually a mixture of songs from the Broadway production and the movie musical," said choral director Bryant Aquino.
 
Aquino had his hands full at a recent dress rehearsal for the perennial favorite. So did drama director Robin Trigg. 
 
"This is the first joint production by our choirs and the drama department," Trigg explained.
 
More than 100 Rowland Unified students are involved in the massive production at the La Puente campus. All seemed enthusiastic about the musical about growing up in the 1950s.

pick this year's show. At first, they wanted to do `Chicago,' but they finally decided on `Grease,"' Trigg said.
