Where
Shelyn Elementary

Shelyn 5th Grade students have been learning to understand what it is like to be responsible for the care and well being of another with the caring of an "egg" for a week --

They now will put their science hats on and conduct an egg-citing experiment: The Great Egg Drop!

Students will design a container to protect a raw egg from cracking when dropped. They will hypothesize, create, test, modify and test again.

"Our goal as teachers is to bring student learning to life by making it as interactive as possible.  We strive to make our students think, observe, hypothesize, and make connections and generalizations about their learning.  We want our students to be EGG-cited about the curriculum that could otherwise be so "dry" to simply read about." Ms. Tamez, 5th grade teacher at Shelyn.
