On Tuesday, November 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., UCI science/biology graduate students will teach hands-on science presentations on the three states of matter to first grade classes. UCI is one of the partner colleges featured in the “No Excuses University” program at Hollingworth Elementary.

No Excuses University is a network of elementary, middle and junior high schools across the United States that actively promotes a comprehensive model of college readiness to all students the moment they begin elementary school.

**The No Excuses University founder, Damen Lopez, has been so impressed with the program’s success at Hollingworth Elementary, he is working with Rowland Unified to make the District's new K-8 school (the redesign of Rincon Intermediate) a flagship of this program on the West Coast.
