Brings Hope to Teachers at Hollingworth Elementary March 10

WEST COVINA, CA – March 9, 2009 -- International Best Selling Author Andrew Bridge of Hope’s Boy will speak to teachers and staff of Hollingworth Elementary on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. on “The Power of a Teacher to Change a Life.” His amazing memoir that covers his 11 years in the Los Angeles County foster care system and his journey to earn a scholarship to Wesleyan, become a Fulbright Scholar and graduate from Harvard Law School, has garnered coverage in Time Magazine, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Reader’s Digest, and numerous appearances on radio and television across the country.

Bridge has dedicated his life's work to helping children living in poverty and in the foster care system. “How he defied the staggering odds set against him and the hope and power that teachers gave him to succeed is why I had to have him share his story with my teachers,” said Hollingworth Principal Miriam Kim.
