ROWLAND INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAM PRESENTS “WINTERFEST” HOLIDAY DINNER AND CONCERT NOVEMBER 30
 
Fundraiser Features Performances By Orchestra Students in Grades 4-12
 
The community is invited to a magical holiday dinner performance to support the Rowland Unified Instrumental Music Program. “Winterfest” will be held on Monday, November 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Industry Hills Expo Center (16200 Temple Avenue, City of Industry) and will feature a catered Italian dinner and performances by Rowland String Orchestra students in grades 4th – 12th. 
 
Tickets are $20 adults; $15 students (on or before November 16). Tickets will be $25 at the door (children 3 and under are free). To purchase tickets, please contact the Schools Division at (626)854-8348, located at the Rowland Unified District Office, 1830 S. Nogales Street, Rowland Heights.
 
Community members interested in purchasing an advertisement in the Winterfest program book ($100 full page or $60 half page by November 11), can contact String Orchestra Director Sophia Hua at (626)854-8348.
           
Rowland Unified is committed to the arts and is one of the few Districts to offer instrumental music in all elementary, middle and high schools. The Elementary Band and Jazz Band begin in 5th grade. The String Program (which starts in 4th grade) has grown to eight elementary schools, two intermediate and both high schools. The District Honor Orchestra features the top string students from all of the District schools, and has been invited to perform at the Regional Festival, representing the best music programs in all of the Southern California! 
           
Keep the Music Rollin’ at Rowland - Rowland’s unique blue busses –- The Note Boat and Music Machine -- can be seen daily across the District. Driven by music teachers, they provide music instruction at the 15 elementary schools! 2010 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Rowland Instrumental Music Program.
